From Freiburg, take tram no. 2 to Günterstal, from there take bus no. 21 to the Schauinsland cable car valley station, once you reach the top walk along the pass road or along the hiking trail in the direction of Notschrei, 200 m before the junction of the main road to Münstertal/Stohren, approximately on the left side of a parking lot on the road, turn right and walk to the house, walking time about 10 minutes.

If you let us know in advance, we can pick you up at the cable car top station.

From Freiburg 19 km in the direction of Schauinsland, past the mountain station, continue on the pass road in the direction of Notschrei approx. 750m, the path to the house turns off to the right clearly before the Münstertal/Staufen junction.

From Kirchzarten 15 km in the direction of Oberried, continue to Hofsgrund to the turn-off at the Hotel Halde, from there turn right for about 1.5 km in the direction of the Schauinsland/Freiburg top station, shortly after the turn-off to Münstertal/Staufen turn left into the Berghaus Freiburg property.

From Staufen/Münstertal 17 km, in Obermünstertal in the right-hand bend after the Hotel Spielweg turn left into Stohrenstraße (K 4957) in the direction of Schauinsland, at the Gasthaus Gießhübel turn right up to the pass road, there turn left, after 200m turn left.

In winter, winter tyres are required depending on the weather. The road is usually well cleared until 10 pm.

The Berghaus is located on the cold water hiking trail from the Schauinsland mountain station in the direction of Gießhübel. From Freiburg there are various well-signposted hiking trails on the Schauinsland (duration 4 to 5 hours).
